Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit art related work, in 2014 James Trevino formed Artpie School of Art Foundation, 501c3 nonprofit, to provide art based solutions and activities to enhance the community. Artpie.com was registered in 1999 when James owned an art shop in Wilmette and Evanston. In 2017, the Artpie building was purchased and rejuvenated to feature an art gallery and adjacent art studio space. It’s been a challenge but Artpie has endured the rough times and continues to present interesting art events. Thanks to all the helping hands of this amazing community and the creative artists who have participated!
At Artpie we try to focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community through creative endeavors. Helping artists create life enhancing art experiences and events helps us affect change in underserved areas. Featured in this photo is the Kids Art Show, February 2023 curated by Luke McFadden. Waukegan area young artists of all ages displayed a fantastic collection of inspiring artwork!
